Fluffy French Toast

Prep Time: 10 Min      Cook Time: 25 Min     Ready In: 30 Min     Preheat Oven: 400

 

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 eggs or substitute 3/4 cup egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 12 thick slices bread
  • 2 tbsp butter

Directions

  1. Measure flour into a large mixing bowl. Slowly whisk in the milk. Whisk in the salt, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract and sugar until smooth.
  2. In a griddle or frying pan over medium heat, melt butter. 
  3. Soak bread slices in mixture on each side for 10 seconds (5 seconds if using thin bread slices). Cook bread on each side until golden brown.
  4. Place French Toast onto baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes at 400 degrees. Serve hot.
